Artist Statement:
After graduating in fine Art at the “HBK University of Braunschweig”, Germany in 2011, I have been practicing as a multidisciplinary freelance artist in Switzerland and England. And now I am back in Switzerland, the country where I mostly grew up.
I have been working on Sculpture and Installation work (among other art work) for several years, unfortunately after I got ill (through an autoimmune disease, which I have since many years) for most of the time I was not well enough to handle heavy duty artwork as I used to (example; such as working with jig saws and working on large installations). Other health issues also occurred and from 2020 my health even got worse and I ended up with heavy Trauma. I was not well, and I am still not perfectly well enough to do the Art work I used to do, therefore I had to change a little my art approach and had to choose different ways to express myself.
Currently, along others, I am exploring the border between art and design. Since 2021 along with my Art, I started to work with clay and exploring this organic medium, as I got a surge to get more in touch with nature and grounding myself more while working with natural materials.
At the moment I also do a lot of drawings and paintings, along this I also do experiments with other materials and mediums, such as textiles.
In general:
Nowadays my inspirations for my work comes from nature which surrounds me in the moment of time and from my own life, just like a Diary I try to capture my Daily experience and put it into my work. I also find inspiration Musik and in geometry, and mostly I find inspiration and interest in the view and impact of a subject, in matters of illusion and irritation of a subject, which is a big interest of mine.
Within Ceramics I work with stoneware clay and porcelain. I love making small and large artistic/utility items as well as jewellery. For many of my work in clay I developed a pinch crackle technique that actually gives the objects the impression of material manipulation but still allows the works to reflect their natural organic evolution.
Generally, my art work includes; Ceramics, Jewellery, Sculptures, Drawings, Paintings, 3D/Installations, 3D and Mixed Media pieces, etc…
My current subject themes are:
- Random impulses
- But no coincidence
-Fragility
-Diversity / Subtle
-Minimalistic / Subtle
- Fragility / Strength
-Meditation / self-discovery
